About BSKB Association
The Bombay South Kanara Brahmins Association is a 90 years old institution, popularly known as ‘GOKUL’. Over the years, its membership has grown exponentially to over 4000 life members. Today Gokul has become an Icon by virtue of it being one of the prestigious & progressive cultural and social organizations of Mumbai.
Gokul projects vision 2020 as envisaged by B.S.K.B Association President Dr. Suresh Rao and his team of dedicated office bearers of the BSKB Association aims at completing four projects in the next five years.
BSKBA
Activities
- Holding cultural, social and sports events throughout the year with participation from all the age groups.
- Providing financial aid and Merit scholarship to the needy and deserving students to encourage higher education.
- Awarding prizes to the meritorious students.
- Conducting medical check-up camps and offering free and subsidized medical aid.
- Conducting, periodically, blood donation camps, summer camps for children, computer classes and drama workshop.
Ladies Wing
Listening to sublime music can be a heavenly experience, especially if it is purely devotional. Simple songs in soulful language, expressing love for God are great legacy of India’s Bhakti movement. Bhajan singing, a traditional method of singing the songs of the great saints of the Bhakti movement while invoking the divine can have tremendous stress-removing benefits.
Youth Wing
The Youth Wing was created with an objective to build a pipeline of future leaders and to provide the youth of the Association a platform to display their talents and channelize them in the right direction for the benefit of the community and towards achieving organizational objectives.
Gokul Kalavrunda
Our association has a great pool of talents. They have excelled in staging & conducting various events like Drama, Yakshagana, Bhajan, Singing. This was well appreciated and recognized by outsiders and there used to be invitations for our members to stage shows or participate in various events.
